What does calm look like? Your Responses

From Marianne McFarland of Philadelphia, PA.
For me, this is calm. Fishing on Lake Ontario. My sister Bernadette and her hubby Mark, have had a summer home right on the Lake for years in a little town called Mexico, near Oswego.
About 5 years ago they bulldozed the”fishing shack” and built a little cape code house. The views are absolutely amazing and there is nothing better than sitting on the deck of their boat house, sipping tea, listening to the sounds of crashing waves. It soothes the frazzled nerves.
Skimming stones, collecting rocks (I have a huge collection), and fishing. No TVs, no radios, no cell phones, just family! When I’m there, everything feels right with the world, even if its just for a little while. All we do is fish, fish, fish…collect rocks and relax.
If you get the chance, visit Rudy’s Lakeside Drive-in on the campus of SUNY – Oswego, a family O&O restaurant since 1946. You eat with your fingers off of paper plates – it’s fabulous!!! Sunsets are magnificent!!
