Finding Pure Joy
January 22, 2009 – 9:03 amEver watch dogs? I mean really watch them, without assigning any human traits to their behavior? The other day while braving the 34 degree wind chill on a walk at Folly Beach, I was captivated by this dog.
Despite the cold, biting wind and the salt water spray, this dog was a bundle of joyous energy. One minute she was nose-to-the-ground in the sand dunes. The next, she was chasing the rolling foam at water’s edge.
Watching her I couldn’t help but laugh. Her pure energy and joy overcame me. In that moment it hit me. Life is not good. Life is not bad. Life is filled with everything; cold harsh winds and calm seas, crashing waves and gentle rain, grey clouds and blue skies.
It is our approach to life that makes the difference.
Happy Day,

What a beautiful dog! And even a more beautiful thought to ponder. Thanks, B
