Dreaming…

On this dreary, dreamy day I woke up reluctantly. I was caught in a dream. Ever dream of something and wake up before it’s over? All you want to do is go back to sleep so you can see how it ends. Of course, it rarely works that way, does it.
Life can be like that too. We witness things occur and then wait for x to happen so that we can reap the benefits. But waiting for x to happen is like trying to go back to sleep to complete the dream. We sacrifice the present in pursuit of something, some day, someone. I have often compared being aware to be awake. When you are fully awake, you are not consumed by what was or what will be but rather what is. And seeing what is includes seeing your part in the present, how you feel, how you think and how you choose to act.
In the end, we cannot control the dream, only the dreamer.
