Simply enough

Ever feel like life is busier than you want it to be? That everyone wants something from you? That there are just not enough hours in a day?

Congratulations, you have just experienced what it means to be part of living in the modern age.

In days past, I would really get upset or overwhelmed by the sheer volume of obligations, to-do lists, bills, chores, etc.  Now, even though those same issues face me every day, I choose to see them differently.  Now I see them as the juice of life, the things that make me tired at the end of a long, prosperous day.

No matter how much we try, there will always be more to do, to see, to accomplish.  There will also always be someone better than you or not as good as you.

That’s okay.  As a little girl, I was told, “just do your best and everything will be alright,” but secretly I also heard, “but make sure you get an A.”

When I got to college I had a professor that said, “if you’re not making mistakes, you’re not learning anything.”  Ah-ha! The light bulb went on.

We cannot always succeed brilliantly at everything we do.  Sometimes we miss the mark.  Sometimes we fail miserably.  But at the end of a long endeavor, if we can look back and see that we did our best with a clear head and a kind heart, what we accomplished will be simply enough.

Happy Day,

  3. I can’t count the times I have said “I do not have enough hours in the day”. Thanks for the wonderful article that really described me.
