Living Simply
June 26, 2009 – 9:26 am
Driving to the office I happened upon this site. Two female wild turkeys (turkey hens) walking down the lane of Dill Plantation. It made me think about what James Island must have been like before developers took over. As I pulled over to watch them slowly pick at the tops of the grasses, it dawned on me that the best thing we can do for our children is keep spaces like this around. Unlike other plantations, the grass is not cropped down to 3-inch decency, the driveway remains unpaved for tree roots to prosper and there is no such thing as chemical treatment of anything.
Yet, despite its irreverence for modern mandates, it stands a staunch reminder that living simply allow many other things to simply live.
Happy Day,

Love it, thanks! And I do love my dirt driveway even though it always makes the car and shoes dirty. You can feel the earth!
