Changing while Staying the Same
July 8, 2009 – 7:39 amYesterday afternoon I captured this shot of an anole lizard, a.k.a. SC chameleon. She was laying in wait for a fly. Ants climbed all over her yet she remained still, changing from bright green to a dull brown before my eyes, with only her teal eye ring a steadfast reminder of her brilliant capacity.
Two opposite thoughts occurred to me. At first I admired her adaptability but then I remembered that, despite her transformation, she remained the same, regardless of what she chose to display to the world. There’s a lesson in there somewhere. For me it had to do with changing while remaining the same. Food for thought.
Happy Day,

Yep. Green or brown, internally zen or greedy, she still has ants crawling all over her. Hope she caught some dinner for her efforts. I’m allowing the lesson to perk before I say any more. la la
