Conscious Choice

What do you splash around, the good, the bad or the ugly?

What do you splash around, the good, the bad or the ugly?

I woke up with Simon and Garfunkel in my head.  You know the song,  “I’d rather be a sparrow than a snail, if I could…”   Then I opened a book and read this passage from William Blake

If I am to be a thoroughfare, I prefer that it be of the mountain brooks…and not the town sewers….We should treat our minds, that is, ourselves, as innocent and ingenuous children, whose guardians we are, and be careful what objects and what subjects we thrust on their attention.  Read not the Times.  Read the Eternities.

It occurred to me that, if given a conscious choice, I’d much rather hear good news than bad.  Sounds obvious but think about how much energy you spend every day absorbing and repeating negative news. Just for today, how about purposefully seeking out the good stuff and spreading it around?

I start each day with a simple quest, to savor the day,  ”divorced from self-pity, dishonesty and self-serving behavior.”  Try it.  You just may be surprised at how you feel at day’s end.

Happy Day,

Trish

PS – So here’s my good news for today from the financial frontier:  Interest rates are down again.  Silver commodities and their manufacturers’ stocks are predicted to soar on the coat tails of gold. There’s a new mortgage out there designed specifically around green building technologies.  If you have an investment property for rent, you are ten times more likely to get it occupied this month than in the fall. If I can help you in any way, give me call.
