The Hummer is most probably a young Rufous
They are common here in the winter.

Wow! What a precious surprise. Now I’m worried about his being all by himself in the winter… Do they couple, or flock? If he got blown away from everybody, will he ever have friends? We have one mallard couple (the ones with the late eggs last June) who’ve just never left the area. Also don’t hang with other groups of Their Kind passing through. What’s up with that?

Oh you are so lucky! I have read that we should keep our feeders up year around. This is proof. Now, Chris Woods, does he charge a speakers fee and I wonder if he would travel to Holly Hill? If you know, I would appreciate hearing from you. Happy New Year!

I saw a hummer going to my dead and half frozen yesterday and I quickly got my feeder and filled it and hung it nearby. I did not get a picture like you tho. Thanks, Myrtle Ann
