The tale of the twisted tree
December 7, 2008 – 11:00 am
I came upon this twisted tree
It spoke of storms long endured
Of surges that pulled it off course
Of winds that challenged its integrity
Of sun that pulled its focus upward again
And time, long since passed that nurtured its rightfulness
I wondered if it considered itself a victim
No, not a victim, a survivor. Victims are those who do not heal from the pain of such trials.
Survivors are those who surrender to the pain and then allow themselves to pursue living again. Ever focused forward.
