I awoke this morning with the answer to all of our economic woes – puppy eyes! You know, those irresistible expressions that make women swoon and soften the heart of even the toughest guy.
As a Realtor, I can tell you that most people really detest the smell of dogs in an empty house but cannot resist petting them when present. In fact, friendly, happy dogs invite people to stick around, hang out for a while. Even scared dogs entice people to attempt to soothe them. I’ve taken people to view houses on many occasions only to have them remember the houses with the dog. Like them or not, dogs have an attractive quality.
So maybe we could apply this same theory to the financial industry. Next time you go to the bank for a mortgage, sneak a tiny dog in your purse and see if it doesn’t soften the loan officer. If you need a tiny dog, I have several to choose from.
But I want them back.
